Nissan Pulsar to get 275hp Nismo-tuned variant to break Nordschliefe lap record
It seems every auto manufacturer today is obsessed with out-classing each other on the Nurburgring’s Nordschliefe. The latest marque to stake their claim is Nissan according to Auto Express‘ latest report, with the adorable Pulsar, tuned by Nismo.
The world has seen in-house performance division Nismo tweak almost every Nissan model, from the Juke to the more sensible 370Z, but the Pulsar was the last link in the puzzle. The SSS, although a strikingly fast car, wasn’t anywhere near Golf GTI or Renault Megane Trophy territory. But the Pulsar Nismo is about to change that.
After extensive tweaking, the car will produce 275-horsepower which will need to propel the vehicle around the ‘Ring in under 7:54 — the current front wheel drive record set by the Megane Trophy.
The car itself will debut at October’s Paris Motor Show, and consumers can only get their hands on one a year later. But expect this to be lots of fun to drive, especially since almost all Nismos possess impeccable race pedigree.
