Got $1m to drop? You could own James Bond’s Esprit (sort of)
There are plenty of cars that cost more than US$1-million, but only a very small number of them will have starred in a James Bond film. You’d imagine then that getting your hands on Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me would have the world’s wealthiest clamoring for their wallets. There is one small catch though.
You see, you won’t be able to drive this particular Esprit. Ever.
You see, it’s actually one of the static props used for the scenes in the film in which the car transforms into a submarine.
The prop car, apparently one of only three surviving Esprit prop cars, is currently for sale on Ebay and is displayed in submarine mode on one side and road-going mode on the other.
Oh and if you want it, you’ll also have to pick it up or ship it yourself. Still, it’s unlikely to break down on you, which is not something you can say of your average classic Lotus.
