Watch this Koenigsegg One:1 tear up Suzuka [video]
Swedish car company Koenigsegg doesn’t really know the word “moderation.” It’s range of supercars are indeed as super as they can get, and well, the One:1 is about the craziest of the lot.
So what if you were to set one down on the start finish straight of Japan’s Suzuka circuit? Absolute brilliance.
It set set the unofficial lap record of one of the world’s fiercest circuits and, well, made a right mess of its brakes and tyres. How fast you ask? Try a 2:17.57 — only 40 odd seconds slower than Kimi Raikkonen’s lap record time in 2005. The previous “unofficial” lap record for a production car at the circuit was a 2:18 set by the Nissan GT-R.
So this Koenigsegg is a monster.
But don’t take our word for it. Watch the Swede destroy the iconic tarmac one ridiculous gear shift at a time.
