Indy 500: how did Scott Dixon walk away from this? [Video]

The 2017 Indy 500 was a rollercoaster affair, but this was almost literally the case for pole-sitter Scott Dixon.
The Kiwi endured one of the most jaw-dropping crashes ever seen in motorsport this year, after fellow racer Jay Howard hit the wall and bounced back across the track.
Dixon then flew over the top of Howard’s car, landing almost upside-down on a wall before the car broke in half, rolled several times and came to a rest.
Fortunately, both drivers were relatively unscathed in the incident — a testament to the safety cell of the DW12 chassis.
The view from second place finisher Helio Castroneves was rather terrifying as well, passing underneath Dixon’s car as it was sent airborne (skip to 1:20 below).
