Seat gets a dose of haute couture with lace show car
There are a few things that come to mind when you think about lace. Lingerie for instance, or lace. Cars are not generally among those things, until now that is.
As part of the celebration of a special edition Mii by Spanish clothing label Mango, Seat UK has created a lace replica of the city car.
The full size replica was designed and constructed in London by a team of eight artisans over a period of three days.
The materials used to make the car include:
- 45 metres of nude coloured cotton lace
- 25 kilos of resin to set the lace
- 10 metres of black cotton lace to build four 3D alloy wheels
- 70 metres of lace trimming with jewel embellishment
Tempting as it is to make a joke about wondering how it handles, we’ll abstain and just let you watch the video showing how it was made.
