Amazon greenlights ‘Le Mans: Racing is Everything’
We’ve seen quite a few solid documentaries covering the Le Mans 24 Hours event, such as the Truth In 24 movies and Journey to Le Mans. Now, we can expect another take on the gruelling race, after Amazon greenlit a new series called Le Mans: Racing is Everything.
The company announced that the series, which hasn’t received a release date yet, would hit over 200 countries/territories that currently have Amazon Prime.
“The limited series will explore what is known as ‘the Mount Everest of motorsports’, the gruelling, non-stop 24-hour car race that has taken place annually in Le Mans, France since 1923,” read an excerpt of the release.
Le Mans: Racing is Everything will see its debut on Amazon Prime after being greenlit by the streaming service
The series will see Porsche, Audi, Nissan, Toyota, Aston-Martin and Rebellion’s racing teams covered as they scramble to build their vehicles for the 24 hour endurance race. The series will also feature drivers such as Mark Webber, Andre Lotterer, Nico Prost and Jann Mardenborough.
“We’ll raise the veil on the pressure that racing cars to the limit puts on the teams and drivers, in a unique human-interest driven series that will take a 360 look at what it takes to participate, organize and ultimately try and win what is unquestionably the toughest race in motorsport,” said James Erskine of New Black Films, the company behind the series.
“It’s a great privilege to bring this to screen with such strong collaborators as Amazon Prime Video. This is racing as you’ve never seen it before.”
