Prof Guy Berger is head of the School of Journalism & Media Studies at Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa. There he has overseen the development of the Africa Media Matrix building, as well as projects like the New Media Lab, Highway Africa conference and the Sol Plaatje Media Leadership Institute. He has a PhD from Rhodes, and is active in the South African National Editors Forum.
