LG G Watch teased in epic video

After watching this promo video for LG’s G Watch, the only question left is “when will it launch?”

The G Watch lands its first one-minute teaser video and LG crams all the information it’s willing to share into this short, but tasty promotional trailer. Everything we know about the LG G Watch can be squeezed into a few lines:

  • It’s IP67 certified, therefore is dust and water-resistant
  • Android Wear powers it. So saying “Okay Google” will launch the G Watch into action
  • The screen will be always-on so it should be an incredibly responsive device
  • There’ll be two colours, black and white. The white model will have gold trim on the bottom

Android Wear is the highlight, but can LG beat Motorola to the punch? The Moto 360 was one of the first Android Wear devices announced, but with the G Watch now on the horizon, how long until we get an actual usable smartwatch? We’ve got the Samsung Gear 2, Pebble and Sony SmartWatch 2, but none have added any genuine functionality apart from envious stares from those who covet one.

An Android Wear device would use Google Now to deliver information cards. So instead of swiping screens to find information, the LG G Watch would respond to voice control. Our guess is to expect a launch within the next two months.
