Rebecca Black braai parody gaining traction
Remember Rebecca Black? The girl that turned Friday into something more than just another day of the week? That one. The meme that never seemed to go away.
Some of the best things that came out of the Black world were the parodies.
You may have thought we had gotten over this and that we had all moved on, but we haven’t. So here’s a little gem that has somehow worked Braai culture into the parody, and it’s gaining traction.
The video, which will have you falling off your chair in laughter, is a product of South African comedy duo “Derick Watts and the Sunday Blues“. It was made in preparation for South Africa’s National Braai day (barbeque day) on 24th September.
After just two days on YouTube, it has racked up more than 19 000 views and 250 comments. It was even given some air time on radio by one of South Africa’s most popular DJs “DJ Fresh“.
