LeWeb Paris 2012: the social media stream
In less than a decade from now, an estimated 50-billion devices will be connected to the internet. Think about that: imagine if every thing was connected and communicating, constantly. We’ve already seen advances like Nest, the thermostat that learns your schedule and adjusts the temperature in your home to save energy when you don’t need it, and Fitbit‘s smart fitness products.
What else will be possible as the Internet of Things grows and the physical and digital world become more intertwined? How will existing industries be impacted, and what will the infrastructure requirements be to manage the volume of data that will be generated and transferred? Is this really the next game-changing technological shift?
These are just a few questions that will hopefully be answered at this year’s Internet of Things-themed LeWeb Paris. We’ll be updating this curated Storify stream throughout the three day conference with the latest Instagram shots, tweets, Facebook posts and videos from speakers and attendees. If you want to see what’s happening in real time, you can follow @Burnreporter for live tweets straight from France.
