Watch what happens when Leap Motion and Google Earth join forces

This is very cool. The Leap Motion controller has people seriously excited about the future of controller tech and when you see how it combines with certain applications, you can see why.

Take Google Earth for example. It has evolved steadily over the years but, by and large, nothing mind-blowing’s changed on it. Until it decided to join forces with Leap Motion that is.

Using the company’s 3D motion control technology to control Google Earth takes it to another level. Navigating and exploring becomes a much more tactile experience. In the video below, you can see that Leap and Earth go together like jam and doughnuts. It just works.

“Our mission at Leap Motion is to provide a fundamentally better computing experience that frees people to create and explore the digital world in new ways,” says Leap Motion CEO Michael Buckwald. “Google Earth combined with Leap Motion’s 3-D, touch-free technology feels so incredibly immersive — people feel connected to the world in a new and compelling way.”

Leap Motion’s developer community of 10 000+ will be the first able to use it on Google Earth, but it will be available to any Leap Motion user when the device ships to the public.
