VW Amarok Facebook app gives fans the chance to meet Slash, Kings of Chaos
This is one of the better Facebook competition apps we’ve seen in a while. It comes from Volkswagen South Africa and it offers people the chance of winning one of four sets of double VIP tickets and accommodation to see former Guns ‘n Roses guitarist Slash and the Kings of Chaos live at Sun City.
Go to the Facebook page for VW’s Amarok pickup truck and you’ll find plenty of of promo material relating to the app. To get to the app, you’ll of course have to like the page, but even the sign asking you to do that is one of the most bad-ass we’ve seen on the social network.
From there, you’ll be asked to fill in your details, including your age, driving preference and which band you’d most like to rock out to.
The nifty thing is, once you’ve filled in all those details, you won’t just be entered into the competition, but will also receive a rock star name. Apparently our’s is “Medicine Machine”.
Alongside Slash, Kings of Chaos includes Guns ‘n Roses former members Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke as well as Joe Elliott and Vivian Campbell from Def Leppard, Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge , Glenn Hughes from Deep Purple and Ed Roland from Collective Soul.
The band will perform at Sun City and in Cape Town in June.
