Dollar Shave Club’s new product promises to conquer number twos
Remember Dollar Shave Club, the ecommerce service that shot to fame with a viral introduction video? Well it’s back, and this time it’s selling toilet paper.
Yup, that’s right, the company’s video number two deals with um…number twos.
It’s no ordinary toilet paper either. These “butt wipes” are called “One Wipe Charlies”, with a pack of 40 setting you back four dollars. Why’s that important? Well, despite the tone of the video, it apparently isn’t just Dollar Shave Club trying to find the next wacky thing to latch on to.
According to Mashable, the company actually did research and found that 51% of men actually use butt wipes and “the 49% could be doing a better job back there.” “Don’t believe me? Go ask 10 friends,” says Dollar Shave Club CEO Mike Dubin, “I bet five are using wipes. They’re just not talking about it. Indeed, 24% of users hide their wipes from visibility. They swear by the experience, but yearn for something designed for men, not their infant children. Something they can be proud to put on display. One Wipe Charlies answers the call. Of Doodie.”
