Nifty Disney trick turns your body into a speaker
This is pretty freaking cool. The egg heads at Disney’s research labs have come up with a new project that turns your body into a speaker.
The project, which goes by the name Ishin-Den-Shin apparently works by amplifying mic input and pushing it back as a high voltage, low current signal.
According to Engadget, this turns objects — including human beings — into electrostatic audio sources that can’t be heard over the air.
That means, for instance, that if you speak into a mic and hold your hand to a person’s ear, you can deliver a private message.
The future implications vary from useful to scary. People in crowded noisy situations could deliver messages to each other without having to shout (especially if the mic is small enough). One the other hand, you could totally use it to mess with people’s heads.
