This widget shows how John Travolta would mispronounce your name
Ah, the Oscars. The latest Academy Awards show was a spectacle filled with pizza, celeb selfies and the return of Pharrell’s mega hat — and, if you were paying attention, a notable slip up by John Travolta.
The actor introduced the performance of the Oscar-nominated ‘Let it Go’ from the movie Frozen, saying it would be sung by the “wickedly talented, one and only Adele Dazeem.” Which is great and all — except the woman who was performing is named Idina Menzel.
To commemorate Travolta’s squinty-eyed fumble, Slate has put together a tool which allows you to “Travoltify” your own name. Just like Travolta, the widget messes up your name, spewing out a jumbled version likely to have been spoken by the star if your name had popped up on the teleprompter instead of Menzel’s.
