Pokemon or big data: can you tell the difference?
It’s 2pm on a lazy Tuesday afternoon. You’ve had lunch, you’re feeling sleepy, and likely also trawling the web to find something to do. Well, look no further than Pokemon.
A Github project that started back in 2015 by Pixelastic is now thoroughly relevant once again, thanks in part to Pokemon Go and that other buzz terms we love so much — big data. The project gives users an obscure term (like Azkaban or Vulpix) and you have to decide if it’s indeed a big data technology, or a Pokemon.
If you think it sounds simple now, try getting ten correct answers in a row. We had no idea just how much Pokemon and big data technologies shared in weird naming conventions.
Big data not your thing, but code is? Check out the Github repository here. If you’re not partial to code but pretty damn sure a gyrados has nothing to do with big data, head on over to the website right here.
