Instagram Stories gets holiday stickers and more
Instagram just got festive with more features for Instagram Stories.
“Since last month’s update, we’ve loved seeing how you’ve (users) used Boomerang and mentions to make your stories even more fun. Now you have new ways to turn any moment into something you want to share with your friends and followers,” said Instagram on their blog.
New to their offering will be the option to add stickers. Once you’ve taken your photo or video, you’ll notice a sticker button next to your drawing tools, delivering stickers based on the weather, time and your location.
Adding a location sticker works in the same way as adding a location to your post. Anyone viewing your story can tap on the location sticker and learn more about that location.
Instagram Stories up their festive feel with new additions and more
You’re also able to move and resize stickers, and you can add as many stickers to any part of your story as you’d like.
“You’ll see a set of holiday stickers available for the next few weeks. A special candy cane brush brings a sweet addition to your drawing tools, and keep an eye out for another set of stickers to ring in the New Year,” continued the blog post.
Instagram Stories now also features a hands-free function which allows you to record your stories without having to hold down on the record button. All you do is simply tap record.
“Whether you’re playing a guitar solo, building a snowman or perfecting your handstand, there’s no need to press and hold,” said Instagram.
Not only can you add stickers and record with a single tap, you can also add as much text to your photo or video as you’d like. All you have to do is keep tapping the text button, adjust the text’s position and size and there you have it.
Instagram has also announced that on iOS you’re able to save your entire story from the last 24 hours directly to your phone as a single video.
