#firstdaymemories: 11 tweets that’ll make you miss school all over again

Can you remember your first day of school? For many, it’s a momentous day that can’t really be forgotten. For others, it’s much better left in the ashes of the mind.

For Twitter, the former definitely applies though. Whether they hated or loved their first interaction with their teachers and fellow pupils, South African tweeters took to the social network today to remember their experiences as many of their kids head off on their personal journeys (once again leaving the TV remote in their sole possession).

According to Twitter trends aggregator Trendsmap, the hashtag #firstdaymemories began trending in South Africa at around 11am Wednesday, joining the likes of #backtoschool, #grade1 and the slew of accompanying proud parent selfies.
