Johannesburg’s western suburbs prepare for 33-hour water cut
Johannesburg’s western suburbs will tomorrow get a taste of Cape Town’s possible future, when the taps run dry for up to 33 hours.
The move comes after Rand Water announced a planned outage in order to conduct maintenance on the district’s primary pipelines.
According to Randburg Sun, the outage was originally penned for mid-August but was postponed. However, the outage — now planned for Tuesday 5 September from 8am — will still affect around 23 suburbs in the Randburg area.
