Last week Hasbro, the toy-making company that makes the Monopoly board game in its many forms, sold a new version of the game aimed at Millennials.
Called Monopoly for Millennials, the game went on sale exclusively at Walmart.
“Money doesn’t always buy a great time, but experiences, whether they’re good — or weird — last forever. The Monopoly for Millennials game celebrates just that,” described Hasbro on Walmart’s website.
The game is all about travelling and collecting experiences, “from your Friend’s Couch, to the Vegan Bistro, to a Week-Long Meditation Retreat” and removes the traditional hunt for real estate. “Adulting is hard; take a break from the rat race with this edition of the Monopoly game.”
According to the description, the game is “super relatable” though it would seem that the intended buyer feels its more of a hoard of condescending stereotypes made by older generations, albeit funny ones.
Taking to Twitter, people expressed their feelings about Monopoly for Millennials.

To me, a Millennial, the game seems quite hilarious in its mocking of the stereotypically care-free yet easily offended generation.
On the other hand, with a tag line like “Forget real estate. You can’t afford it anyway,” it also highlights a rather sad truth about the world’s current state of affairs.
