Netflix’s Criminal won’t leave the interrogation room
Netflix is producing a new crime drama series called Criminal, but the 12 episode show is not the general crime show narrative we all know.
“Criminal is a police procedural with a unique premise: it takes place exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite,” the company explains on its website.
This means no running with guns, and no shootouts. Just the crook, the cops, and the interrogation room.
“This stripped down, cat-and-mouse drama will focus on the intense mental conflict between the police officer and the suspect in question.”
The show will be set in four countries, and each country will feature in three episodes. France, Spain, Germany and UK episodes will all be produced by a different team.
“The episodes will be in local language, written and directed by talent from their respective countries,” Netflix concludes.
