‘Comedians of the World’ hits Netflix on New Years Day
If you like stand up comedy and have no intention of going out on New Years Day, Netflix’s latest announcement might tickle your funny bone.
The streaming company’s Comedians of the World series, which was first announced in July, finally has a launch date: 1 January 2019.
The series is set to feature 47 comedians in 13 regions, including South Africa, each delivering a half-hour stand up routine.
While many of the content has already been recorded at Montreal’s Just For Laughs comedy show in July, other sets have also been taped in São Paulo, Mexico City, Mumbai, Berlin, and Amsterdam thoughout the year.
So yeah, that’s nearly 24 hours of stand up.
All episodes in the series will hit the streaming service on the same day, which poses an impossible conundrum for those who actually want to get out and enjoy some sunshine.
