Facebook Messenger’s secret dark mode is hidden behind a moon emoji

The secret’s out. The sneaky developers of Facebook Messenger has hidden a secret dark mode within the app that you can activate simply by sending someone a crescent moon emoji.
Android Police reported the trick, noting that all you have to do is send the emoji to a friend to get a pop up menu where you can access a toggle for the dark mode.

Though the feature is still in development, it seems to be available on all Android and iOS devices.
Unfortunately, the mode can’t be accessed on Messenger Lite for Android.
