Facebook’s suing companies, individuals for creating fake accounts, likes and followers

Facebook is taking legal action against several organisations and individuals for the creation and promotion of fake likes, accounts and followers across its platforms.
“By filing the lawsuit, we hope to reinforce that this kind of fraudulent activity is not tolerated,” the company said on its website.
According to the social networking giant, the guilty parties also targeted Apple, Amazon and LinkedIn, to name a few.
The lawsuit aims to prevent perpetrators from using any of Facebook’s platforms and stop them creating the fake accounts and activity.
“Today’s lawsuit is one more step in our ongoing efforts to protect people on Facebook and Instagram,” Facebook concluded.
