New WhatsApp feature will let you share your status on Facebook

A report by The Verge on Wednesday revealed that WhatsApp is testing a feature that allows users to share their status updates directly to Facebook and other apps.

The feature is currently available for WhatsApp beta users, and has the option to share status updates on Gmail, Google Photos and Instagram as well.

According to the report, the new feature does not indicate that Facebook is merging with WhatsApp and Instagram just yet.

Speaking to the The Verge, WhatsApp also claims that the new story sharing feature will not share any user data between apps either.

Pretty soon, we can share our favourite memes with everyone, with just the click of a WhatsApp sharing button.
