Donald Trump has joined Twitch ahead of the 2020 US elections
You can now watch US President Donald Trump live on Twitch. Yes, seriously.
And no, be disappointed, because he won’t be shouting at his screen during impossible Super Mario Maker levels, or taunting Fortnite players.
Instead, the addition of Twitch to his social networking reach is in aid of his 2020 Presidential campaign.
The campaign now has a verified Twitch account, broadcasting its first live stream last night from a rally in Minneapolis.
Trump isn’t the first 2020 presidential hopeful to join the platform though. Bernie Sanders has had a channel since August, notes The Verge.
Expect more politicians in the future employ Twitch and YouTube as paths to their audiences during the campaign.
But hey. At this rate, why even bother with an election?
Maybe a battle royale livestreamed on Twitch between all the candidates should decide who ultimately gets to helm the world’s most powerful country?
