Johannesburg Pride: 9+ stunning pictures from the Sandton festival

Sandton swapped business suits for masses of colour on Saturday, when the city centre hosted the Johannesburg Pride festival.

The festival, now in its 30th year, is organised by Pride of Africa, an advocacy group “committed to liberation, celebration and change for the LGBTQ+Me community”.

While some eagerly awaited the rain, others took to the streets of the CBD draped in rainbow garb.

We can’t remember the last time Sandton looked this gorgeous. And if you don’t believe us, Instagram was awash with images from the event, too.

Here are some of our favourites.
