Facebook Viewpoints will pay you to take part in surveys and research
Facebook on Monday revealed a new market research app called Viewpoints that “rewards people for participating in surveys, tasks and research”.
This means that you can now sell your information and ideas to Facebook for rewards points that can be converted into cash.
According to the company, however, you can only earn money once you’ve accumulated a certain number of points on the platform.
“We’ll let you know how many points you need in order to receive a payment, and every time you reach that amount of points, you’ll receive a payment sent directly to your PayPal account,” Facebook explained on its website.
To kick off Viewpoints, the app’s first research programme will focus on digital well-being, a rising concern in the online world.
“Information from this survey will help us build better products that aim to limit the negative impacts of social media and enhance the benefits,” Facebook further said, alluding to the company’s recent tests surrounding hiding likes on Instagram and the Facebook app.
“Before you begin any program, we’ll let you know how the information you provide through that program will be used,” the company added.
Currently, Facebook Viewpoints is exclusive to Facebook users over the age of 18 in the United States.
