Makro on WhatsApp lets users find catalogues, ask questions and more
Have you added Makro as a contact on WhatsApp? Maybe you should. If you shop at the bulk retailer often, you can now shun those cumbersome paper leaflets, and use its WhatsApp service instead.
Launched this week, Makro lets prospective purchasers access catalogues, guides, store locations or even ask staffers questions.
Users can also query orders or info regarding their in-store cards.
(We’d ask why they didn’t have gazillion-rand bottles of whiskey on special again this year.)
The service is dubbed, rather tongue-in-cheek, iA, or Makro Intelligent Assistant. Yes, it’s a play on AI.
It’s a no-brainer for these businesses to garner a presence on the chat app, used by more than 1.5-billion people globally.
We’ve seen the likes of Telegram used by Cape Town’s Metrorail service to disseminate information, too, which makes for a far more versatile and immediate tool than telephone calls or email.
