Wunderlist is walking dead: Microsoft to end support in May 2020
After acquiring to-do list app Wunderlist back in 2015, Microsoft on Monday officially revealed that it will kill support to the app next year.
“It’s time to let you know that on 6 May 2020 we plan to shut down Wunderlist,” the company said on the dead-app-walking’s blog.
Despite the emotional post, which even features “a new beginning” video, Microsoft has been planning to shut down Wunderlist ever since developing Microsoft To Do, its replacement list-making app.
“We planned this so we could concentrate on building a more integrated and secure app that helps you get stuff done in a smarter way,” Microsoft explained.
With Wunderlists’s end in sight, the company also assured users that they can still import their information to Microsoft To Do until May next year.
“Starting today, we will no longer accept new Wunderlist sign-ups,” Microsoft also revealed.
Wunderlist users, meanwhile, can simply download the To Do app and sign in to their Microsoft accounts to start the moving process.
