Turn your Vines into GIFs with GIPHY’s loop conversion tool
Twitter might be turning its back on content creators, killing its short-loop video tool Vine, but other companies are seeing this death as an opportunity. One such company is GIPHY.
The social GIF respository and search engine has launched a new tool that converts Vine loops into GIFs. Taking to Medium, GIPHY explains that it “wanted to add another fun way for loops to live on”.
“If you have a GIPHY account, you’ll be able to transfer over all of the Vines you’ve created with this new tool we just finished.”
Vine is the latest victim of Twitter’s crazy week
Twitter, after shedding 9% of its company staff this week, is also shedding Vine. In a blog post published on Medium, “Vine and Twitter” explains that the former will be “discontinuing the mobile app” in a move that almost spells the end for the promising but ailing short video platform. Read more…
The tool, available here, allows users to paste the Vine’s URL into the converter, and well, GIPHY does the rest. This process also allows you to effectively download the Vines too as an MP4 video with audio.
