Update: Braamfontein’s BraamPark office block burnt to a crisp
Update, 3.04pm SAST: The Braamfontein office block blaze is now largely “under control”, authorities note.
The latest images from the BraamPark site also suggests that fire fighters have done a stellar job extinguishing the flames.

There have also been “no injuries or fatalities reported”, the City of Joburg’s Twitter account adds.

Original article: A portion of the BraamPark office complex in Braamfontein, Johannesburg is currently on fire, according to the slew of images being posted on Twitter.
Snaps of the blaze, which has engulfed the Forum 1/A building, began appearing on the social network around 2pm SAST.
The office park is just north of Johannesburg’s CBD, and a few blocks from the Constitutional Court of South Africa, and the Joburg Theatre.
Initial images only revealed smoke emanating from the building’s roof.

But the fire soon escalated, as more bystanders snapped and recorded the fire in action.

A number of hashtags soon began trending across the social network around 2.40pm SAST, #Braampark being the most prominent. #Braamfontein and #Braamparkfire also joined the hashtag just after 3pm SAST.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known, and emergency services are reportedly on the scene.
