Weekly Round Up Podcast #110: E3, young millionaires & SuzelleDIY

Welcome to Weekly Round Up, our podcast discussing the latest tech trends, innovation and news from the last few days.

This week, Hadlee Simons hosts Andy Walker and Stephen Timm as they detail the week’s top news from the Burn Media family of sites.

Hadlee opens the floor with the Electronic Entertainment Expo (better known as E3). All the major gaming studios like Sony, Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft gathered to talk about their upcoming projects, but what stood out to Andy was the Xbox One X.

Over on Venturburn, Stephen talks about a young man from Pretoria who became a millionaire at 22.

Albert Van Wyk made a deal with his father that if he secured a bursary to the University of Pretoria, he could keep the money and invest it how he chooses. He has now written a book on his success.

Finally, Andy discusses the deal between SuzelleDIY creator Julia Anastasopoulos and ShowMax for original show Tali’s Wedding Diary. The eight-part documentary tells of a “self-obsessed Sandton princess who’s moved to Cape Town and has hired a documentary crew to film the build-up to her wedding to property-agent fiancé Darren.”

What are we watching, reading, playing: Andy is currently downloading Killing Floor 2, which was available on PS+ for free this month. He also just got the Logitech G433 headphones which he will be reviewing soon.

Stephen just got a book from Seed Academy’s Donna Rachelson called Play to Win about how business women must adapt to the man’s world of business, and how they can do that without losing their femininity.

Hadlee just started playing DiRT 4, which he is enjoying and will be reviewing in the upcoming weeks. He is also still on that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe grind, playing multiplayer mode with his family yesterday for his birthday.
