We may be in the height of the dry season in Cape Town but you probably wouldn’t have guessed by looking at the dam…
Julia Anastasopoulos of SuzelleDIY fame is joining forces with ShowMax in its first original production, the company today announced.
The streaming service revealed that filming for the show, dubbed Tali’s Wedding Diary, is currently underway in Cape Town.
The eight-part show will take the form of a mockumentary, with Anastasopoulos starring as titular character Tali.
“Building on the phenomenal success of her SuzelleDIY character, Anastasopoulos stars as Tali, a self-obsessed Sandton princess who’s moved to Cape Town and has hired a documentary crew to film the build-up to her wedding to property-agent fiancé Darren,” reads ShowMax’s press release.
Julia Anastasopoulos and Ari Kruger of SuzelleDIY fame will star in, and direct the show respectively
SuzelleDIY remains one of the most popular YouTube channels and characters on the social network in South Africa, raking in over 22-million views combined.
Ari Kruger is also on board as co-creator and director, bringing the duo who together worked on SuzelleDIY to the streaming screen.
This isn’t the only show the streaming company is currently working on though.
ShowMax also announced an original co-production alongside Mzansi Magic is also in the works. Dubbed iNumber Number, the show is based on the eponymous 2013 movie focussing on corruption, crime and drama.
Tali’s Wedding Diary will debut on ShowMax in December 2017.
