Check out ex-Webby boss Tiffany Shlain’s new cloud sourced film
This is very cool. It’s the new short film from Webby Awards founder Tiffany Shlain.
In order to make the two-minute film Shlain, together with her production company The Moxie Institute, asked people from all over the world to send videos of themselves feeling their heartbeat and thinking about what it means.
The film, titled Engage, is part of the company’s “Let it Ripple” movement. The movement comes with the tagline “Mobile films for Global Change” and takes its cue from the last line of Shlain’s first feature film Connected. “For centuries we’ve declared our independence. Perhaps it’s now time we declare our interdependence,” it says.
This is the kind of collaborative effort that should give even the most jaded among us hope for the internet.
Engage has been translated into Swahili, Spanish, French, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, and Russian.
