China welcomes Jelly Bean with the ZTE N880E
This is China’s first Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) phone, the ZTE N880E.
It’s a coup. Not only is the ZTE N880E the first Jelly Bean smartphone in China, but the prime contender of being the initial Android 4.1 device to come from the emerging markets. Rejoice, Android fans.
The ZTE N880 is thin (10.4mm in chubbiness), has a decent-sized screen at 4-inches, rocks 4GB RAM and a 1Ghz CPU. Overall, no alarms and no surprises but the inclusion of Jelly Bean is a handset win.
Since May 2012 the ZTE N880 has been selling like gangbusters, crapping out over a million sales in a short space of time. Today though, the future of the device sits on the shoulders of giants as it happily accepts Google’s latest OS. Here’s the full specs of a phone which is yet to be priced.
