iPad and iPhone prototypes exposed by Samsung vs Apple patent smackdown
These shots of the iPad and iPhone prototypes, leaked from the Apple vs Samsung court documents give us pause. These ugly renders are what we may have had to deal with but thanks to Steve Jobs, never thankfully saw the gleaming light of day.
Fantastically unappealing is a decent explanation for these CAD renders. Look at the iPad, it was going to have a kickstand for the love of god. It’s also a larger version of the proto-iPhone, with squared-off sides and a 16:9 display. The current iPad has a 4:3 display.
As for the iPhone, it’s a mess. It looks like the Mayan version of a Nokia smartphone. None of the sex appeal and design care seen in the iPhone 4S is present. The idea is there, but the phone is unbelievably chunky and that’s not on. Anyway, enjoy what might have been.
