September is looming, and the world needs its iPhone fix
With just over two weeks to wait for one of the most anticipated dates for Apple connoisseurs, here is something to whet the palette: a mixture of rumor, possibly real parts of the new iPhone and a few random guesstimations with some wishful thinking.
Okay, so it’s not just the iPhone 5 that everyone is anticipating. There is the possibility of an iPad Mini, and even the chance of a 13-inch MacBook Retina display being unveiled. All of which would be very big products for Apple.
If it really wants to milk it, Apple will hold two different events. One for the iPhone this September and another for the iPad Mini. Well, everyone has been waiting far longer for the iPhone 5, so at least Apple is not putting that one on hold any longer (hopefully). And based on confirmation by John Paczkowski, there will indeed be two events, the second being held in October.
Question is: will Apple release a 13-inch MacBook Retina during either of these events? It seems like it would work quite well unveiling two smaller products like a 13-inch Retina display MacBook and an iPad Mini at the same event. Give the public what it wants, Apple!
With all the parts of the next iPhone flying around the internet, it’s a wonder that we can’t just put them all together ourselves. It would be great if Apple throws a curve-ball and unveils something dramatically different, but don’t count on it. There’s also the purported smaller dock, even with the cable to go with it.
So expect to find a very similar looking product to the iPhone 4, albeit hopefully bigger and thinner. And expect just about the opposite for the iPad Mini: very similar looking, but smaller. Apple really is revolutionising mobile devices, isn’t it?
