Start your engines: first iPhone 5s now shipping from China
The iPhone 5 launches 21 September in most countries and most of these products have begun the long journey from factory to trouser pocket, according to delivery schedules.
For customers who were first in the pre-order queue, many of these iPhone 5’s are shipping now. The UPS delivery report even states that the phone is coming from ZhengZhou, China which is the base of the elusive, 120 000-workforce strong Foxconn iPhone plant.
So that means this weekend is the official start of iPhone 5 madness. Apple’s fairly strict shipping policy ensures that most iPhone shipments arrive on the predicted date.
