The Lenovo IdeaCentre Q190, ‘World’s smallest full function PC’

Amid the trend of ultrabooks and tablet-hybrids, is there still a place for mini PCs? Lenovo certainly believes so. The Chinese based manufacturer is going all in with its latest range of peripheral hubs. The most envy-inducing of which is the Q190. According to Lenovo, it holds the title as “World’s smallest full function PC” measuring just 2.2 centimeters thick.

Size aside, Lenovo has shoved as much tech as this diminutive Q190 can handle and features an Intel Core i3 processor. As far as storage and memory go, the Q190 has you sorted, with a 1TB hard drive and 24GB SSD as well as 8GB DDR memory. Lenovo intends for the IdeaCentre Q190 to switch seamlessly between a user’s Desktop PC and TV. The Q190 has full HD and 7.1 channel audio support to match up with most high-end home entertainment theaters. For Microsoft users the Q190 can support the latest Window 8 Professional OS.

With USB 3.0, HDMI, S/PDIF and a 6-in-1 SDXC card reader, the Q190 can handle pretty much anything a multimedia fiend can throw at it. Now for the price; Engadget predict users will have to cough up between US$479 and US$549 given previous releases. Set for unveiling in January 2013, the Q190 should be the perfect media peripheral.
