Steam’s Black Friday Spring sale kicks off with great PC titles
It’s time for the weekend and the Steam Spring Sale just keeps getting better and better. In the Western part of the world it’s Black Friday, and Steam has decided to make everyone’s weekends by announcing ludicrous discounts on its selection of digital PC games. Similar to the Steam Summer sale we saw earlier this year, we can expect to see some really great titles available for next-to-nothing this weekend.
Starting on 27 November all the way though to 3 December, we’ve already seen saucy deals like Dead Island for only US$5 and The Walking Dead for nearly US$6. All Daily Deals titles on sale today include the following:
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for US$5 (80% off)
Papers, Please for US$5 (50% off)
XCOM: Enemy Unknown for US$10 (75% off)
Dungeons and Dragons: Baldur’s Gate Enhanced Edition for US$8 (60% off)
Final Fantasy VII for US$4 (67% off)
Van Helsing for US$5.09 (66% off)
Don’t Starve for US$5.09 (66% off)
Dead Island for US$5 (75% off)
Don’t know the drill? The general sales will be in place until the end of the promotion while Daily Deals last for one to two days and Flash Sales change every 8 hours. One thing that many people have pointed out before is that in order to make sales like these worth your while, wait for the games you want to either feature with the Daily Deals or the Flash Sales.
An interesting quirk we’ve noticed about the Steam web page is that, depending on which hemisphere you are, the page will flip accordingly to either read Spring “Sale 2013” or “Autumn Sale 2013”. Pretty cool right?
