Next-gen hassles: ‘Dead Rising 3’ requires massive 13GB update to play
Gamers across the globe were taken aback when it was first announced that soon-to-be Xbox One fans should “stick with the Xbox 360 if [they] have zero access to the internet, that is an offline device”. Now we know why that’s the case. A new update of a popular Xbox One exclusive, Dead Rising 3, has been released and requires a massive 13GB download.
This move by Capcom might put a spanner in the works of many gamers who don’t have a solid internet connection as it will take forever to download. The update is mandatory, which means that if you don’t download it, you won’t play Dead Rising 3 with an internet connection. Pity really. It’s more than half of the original space of the game’s 23GB.
WTF! A 13GB patch for Dead Rising 3. Is this how next Gen is going to be now!?

Bridge points out how important a strong relationship with fans is in developing a game and future DLCs. “It’s not just about making a game and getting it out to them, it’s about making sure they’re still having a lot of fun even after it’s out,” he says.
What you’ll get from the 13GB update is the first episode to the Untold Stories of Los Perdidos series, namely Operation Broken Eagle, which lets you play as a commander of a military group, introduces new weapons and vehicles.
