Xbox One scores Twitch streaming service as ‘Titanfall’ launches 11 March

Xbox One Floating

It’s been announced that the Xbox One will be getting the popular game broadcasting slash streaming service 11 March. Twitch is home to a massive 45 million visitors per month, with popular events such as League of Legends, Dota and, more recently, the TwitchPlaysPokemon experiment. The live streaming service hopes to see ratings spike even further when Twitch aptly opens up its servers to Xbox One gamers on the same day the much-anticipated Titanfall launches.

PlayStation 4 gamers have been able to use Twitch services since the console’s official launch last year November. Xbox notes that its Twitch experience will be unique. “Unlike other Twitch console experiences, you can also broadcast a full-screen view of the game you’re playing or use an on-screen viewer indicator to keep an eye on how popular your live broadcast is.”

Some new features will include integrated Twitch activity that appears in the friends app and the ability to set up notifications for a heads-up when one of your favorites begins broadcasting. Broadcasters will also be able to invite friends into a private party from the chat stream. You’ll be able to chat to other viewers, friends or broadcasters via Twitch.

Xbox One gamers can simply say “Xbox, Broadcast” to start streaming their gameplay to Twitch viewers online. “Only Xbox One offers the most complete Twitch experience, with access to any live broadcast and the full Twitch catalog,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate VP of Marketing, Xbox. “We’ve designed Xbox One to be the best place to play with features and unparalleled partnerships that deliver epic moments for gamers.”

Xbox is further hoping to beat its next-gen competition with exclusivity. Titanfall , which is not available on the PS4, launched in beta on 12 February became the most watched on Twitch, peaking with more than 65,000 concurrent views.
