Canal Walk Gaming Expo starts tomorrow 27 October in Cape Town
Popular Cape Town shopping destination Canal Walk will host its own gaming expo from 27 October to 1 November 2015.
In association with retailer BT Games, the mall will showcase “the latest generation of powerful video game consoles, including the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo’s WiiU, as well as other items like gaming keyboards and headsets which will also be available to experience,” according to the press release.
Speaking of his company’s involvement, BT Games’ marketing lead Karl Klöpfer suggests that its the perfect time in South Africa’s relationship with gaming to further strengthen the public’s perception of what was once simply a pass-time:
Gaming is more than just the latest screen experience and video game releases, it includes trading card games, such as ‘Magic the Gathering’ and ‘YuGiOh’ and more, which is why we have called this a gaming ’culture’ exhibition. Furthering the notion and playing to the connected home theme, which is where the human race is headed, we will also be introducing visitors to the new BB-8 Sphero Droid – the Star Wars app-controlled droid, which can also be won.
The organisers have noted that there promises to be “great deals on games, consoles and more.”
Entrance to the expo is free, and will take place in the mall’s Centre Court.
