Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum available in South Africa

Logitech, the well-known German peripheral company, has announced that its latest gaming mouse — the Logitech G502 Proteus Spectrum — is heading to South Africa and should go on sale this quarter.

If you’re wondering why the G502 sounds a lot like the Proteus Core launched earlier last year, that’s largely because they’re effectively the same mouse. The Spectrum, however, packs RGB customisable lighting.

“The G502 Proteus Spectrum has an amazing sensor, and now it’s got customisable lighting as well,” Logitech‘s VP and GM of gaming notes.

“You can also sync it with your other RGB-enabled Logitech G gaming gear to create some really cool effects.”

Speaking of effects, the G502 Proteus Spectrum lets the user adjust the mouse’s colour scheme to 16.8-million colours using the company’s Logitech Gaming Software. This also includes patterns, effects and a host of other features like synchronization with other Logitech wares.

As for the mouse’s performance itself, the G502 Proteus Spectrum also packs a DPI range of 2000 to 12 000, which should be more than enough for ultra-high definition gaming, and adjustable weights which can be removed.

The mouse will retail for around R1600, and should be available this quarter.
