HTC 10 teases ‘world first, world class’ camera technology

HTC phones are fast becoming a hard sell, especially since the last good device to leave its stable was 2014’s HTC One M8. But it’s hoping to change all of that with the HTC 10.

We don’t know if it will actually be called the HTC 10 (or HTC One M10), but its creator is pretty sure that the phone’s cameras will be “World First, World Class, Front and Back,” judging by the company’s latest coy teaser tweet.

What this means is really anyone’s guess, but there are two theories.

Firstly, HTC could be experimenting (once again) with a dual rear camera setup, in order to keep up with Huawei‘s Honor range or the LG G5. This will allow for post-capture witchcraft including focus adjustments.

Secondly, we could see a similarly powered selfie camera compared to the phone’s rear camera, something that HTC has also used in the past. If anything, this will greatly appeal to Selena Gomez and the rest of Instagram, especially considering the prevalence of visual social media.

Either way, we’ll take HTC’s word for it until launch. And as for the launch, it is suggested that April could be the month. Until then, we’ll have to just wait and see.
