Acer TravelMate X3 series coming to South Africa in October
Taiwanese hardware manufacturer Acer today announced its new Acer TravelMate X3 notebook series, for “designed for small and medium businesses, and professionals who want to work in style.”
The company notes that the X349 will be the first product in the new range, and will boast a 180-degree tilting 14.0-inch 1920×1080 screen, an 18mm-thick “brushed metal” body and a weight of 1.53kg, which is fairly light for today’s notebook standards.
According to Acer, practically all of the X349’s features are in-tune with business travellers’ needs too.
The machine has an LED backlit keyboard to “keep users productive in low-light situations on airplanes and commuter trains,” while the laptop also boasts “fine-tuned speakers and microphones for crisp and lag-free communication.”
Beneath the skin though, the X349 uses a 6th-generation Intel CPU, up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM and a 512GB SSD for the top-echelon edition. Acer also claims that the Windows 10 Pro machine can eke out 10-hours on a single charge which is perhaps the best feature of the lot for travellers.
The Acer TravelMate X349 will debut in South Africa in October 2016, and should retail for around R15 000.
