Pokemon Go: here’s how to request or remove PokeStops and gyms
Ever since Pokemon Go launched last week, we’ve seen people complain about the lack of PokeStops or gyms near them.
On the other end of the spectrum, we’ve seen some rather inappropriate real-world locations used in-game, such as personal property or memorials.
Fortunately, Niantic has a solution of sorts, in the form of a request page on its website.
Request these options
Want more PokeStops or gyms in your area? Then under the “reason” field, you’ll need to choose “no PokeStops or gyms near me”.
Is there a gym or stop on your personal property? Then choose “report a PokeStop on my personal property” under the “reason” field.
Found a crime-ridden Poke Stop or gym? Then you’ll need to select “dangerous PokeStops or gym”.
Other information you can fill out includes the longitude/latitude of the location, the address and the exact name of it.
There doesn’t seem to be an option to remove a location because it’s on sensitive property though, as is the case with the USA’s Holocaust Museum. Still, here’s hoping this functionality is included soon.
About to upgrade your phone and want a big battery for Pokemon Go? Then click here for some suitable handsets.
The game isn’t available in SA yet, but you can find our Android install guide here.
