Turing Phone Cadenza seems like a late April Fool’s joke
Fresh from making the secure Turing Phone, Turing Robotic Industries has announced development of a smartphone that seems far too good to be true.
In a newsletter spotted by Geektime, the Turing Phone Cadenza was announced, sporting a spec sheet that seems like the fever dream of a smartphone enthusiast.
“The Turing Phone Cadenza is a bold continuation of TRI’s mobile research and the first device in The Outer Blueprint programme,” the company explained in the newsletter.
The Turing Phone Cadenza seems like a phone from The Terminator franchise
The Turing Phone Cadenza spec sheet starts off well enough, featuring a 5.8-inch 2560×1440 display. Things go from cutting edge to plain ridiculous shortly thereafter.
The company claims that their new phone will run the Snapdragon 830 processor, but not just one of them though. The firm says the Cadenza will run two of these processors, giving it 16 Kryo cores in the process. Bear in mind that the Snapdragon 830 hasn’t been announced or detailed yet and that this is akin to buying a computer with two i7 processors (i.e. WTF).
That’s not where the spec sheet ends though…
The camera department lists a 60MP main camera (with iMax 6K, a quad rear camera and Triplet Lens listed as camera features), as well as two 20MP front-facing cameras. If that wasn’t enough, the company claims the Cadenza will have 12GB of RAM (being LPDDR4X RAM) and 1TB of storage (512GB local storage and two 256GB microSD cards).
As for connectivity? The company is claiming quad-SIM support – who needs dual SIM phones, right? Powering all of this is a “triple power source” comprised of a hydrogen fuel cell, standard Lithium-Ion pack and graphene battery.
Rounding out the package is a SwordfishOS platform, based on Jolla’s Sailfish OS and using AI technology, apparently.
Turing Robotic Industries lists a 2017 release window.
