Nintendo Switch gets price on Takealot
The Nintendo Switch is hitting South Africa at the same time as the rest of the word, but pricing has been a mystery for us.
Sure, Nintendo announced a US$299 price tag for the USA, but what about South Africa?
Now, local online retailer Takealot has revealed its price (h/t: Cheap Gamer), coming in at R5299 (Takealot claims that this is down from R5599).
The Nintendo Switch price on Takealot is similar to the PS4, although we have seen discounts from both Sony and Microsoft
Switch peripheral prices have also been revealed by the retailer, with the Pro Controller available for R1199, a pair of JoyCons available for R1299 and the JoyCon charging grip having a R549 price tag.
Other accessories listed include JoyCon straps for R99 a pop, one JoyCon for R899, a carrying case and screen protector for R349 and an AC adapter for R499.
As for games, Breath of the Wild is listed for R880, 1-2-Switch has a R599 tag and the limited edition version of Breath of the Wild is available for R1299 (down from R1399, Takealot says).
